Thursday Elective *JH (PM1A) – Journalism & Class Newspaper

ONE YEAR CLASS:

In this collaborative class, students will be introduced to the “who, when, where, when and why’s” of the journalistic story. Students will conduct interviews, write articles, edit, photograph and create/publish a school newspapers highlighting school events, service projects and student achievements. This class will also explore topics such as ethics in media, journalism in light of the First Amendment, censorship, and how to avoid plagiarism. Journalism 101 will be a project-based, year-long class that will rely on ongoing collaboration with classmates. Newspaper publications will be created and shared with the entire Grace school, all year long on topics and events, that are meaningful to the students.
