ONE YEAR CLASS (Please note that a student who took this class last year in 8th grade can take it again for 9th grade English as students will not be reading the same books) – New students are welcome to join this class mid-year:
In this English class, students will study the structure of a formal essay alongside some fabulous literature. They will practice the various elements that make up an essay through writing exercises, essay prompts and literature critique. By the end of the year, they should be able to handle with ease the skeletal frame that supports a formal essay and use it for any subject. Plus, they will have read some great books!
*This is a great class for 9th grade students who may need improvement in writing skills.
